Accounting Assistant – Tolling | Mass Markets

The Tone:
This is a blended full-time accounting role at Mass Markets, initially based in Dallas, TX for training before transitioning to a work-from-home arrangement. Mass Markets, a brand under MCI, is part of a rapidly expanding tech-enabled business services company that delivers customer experience and business process solutions across various industries. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, primarily supporting Tolling operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of core accounting processes within a growing organization. The position demands a detail-oriented individual who values accuracy and is comfortable working with financial data.

• Mission: Ensure accuracy in financial transactions, reconciliations, and data for Tolling operations, and support the 3PC accounting function as needed.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, AI-enabled tools (e.g., Claude)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tolling Support: Provide daily accounting support for Tolling operations, including processing and validating related financial transactions.
• Reconciliations: Complete bank and financial reconciliations, reviewing data and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Identify, investigate, and assist in resolving financial discrepancies, variances, and transaction issues.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure financial information is correctly entered and updated within systems.
• Team Contribution: Offer accounting and administrative support to the wider Finance & Accounting team, including coverage for the 3PC accounting function.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level experience in an accounting support role with an understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Experience: Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Clerk, or similar role, with a focus on bank or financial reconciliations.
• Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, numerical aptitude, data-entry accuracy, ability to identify and resolve discrepancies, and comfort with financial systems and virtual communication platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
• Bonus: Experience in a high-volume accounting environment, familiarity with tolling, payments, transportation, or related financial transactions, experience using AI tools, and experience supporting multiple accounting functions.
