This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for an Accounting Assistant at a prominent law practice located in West Los Angeles, CA. Specializing in corporate, real estate, entertainment, and litigation law, this practice seeks a motivated and detail-oriented individual. This role is crucial for supporting the firm’s financial operations, including comprehensive billing processes, accounts receivable management, and essential client intake procedures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Processing: Assist the Billing Coordinator by reviewing, revising, finalizing, and distributing client invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to clients.
• Accounts Receivable Support: Prepare and dispatch Accounts Receivable follow-up communications to clients with outstanding balances and actively assist with collection efforts.
• Financial Reporting & Records: Maintain weekly Accounts Receivable reporting, provide regular updates on collection status, and accurately update payment notes and client account records within the billing system.
• Client Intake & Conflict Resolution: Conduct thorough conflict checks to identify and resolve potential conflicts of interest before opening new matters or engaging new clients.
• System Management & Budgeting: Open and manage new clients and matters in the firm’s accounting and document management systems, and assist with creating and maintaining client budgets.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a professional setting, with core domain knowledge of law firm operations, billing, or accounting practices.
• Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience, specifically required within a law firm, billing, accounting, or legal technology environment.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on tasks. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong analytical capabilities to identify issues and propose practical solutions. Exhibit a collaborative team player attitude, a professional demeanor, and a strong work ethic, ensuring reliability and composure under pressure.
