Accounts Receivable Specialist | Vertosoft

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Vertosoft, located in Leesburg, VA, with a hybrid work environment. Vertosoft accelerates the adoption of technology across government by combining acquisition expertise with the agility of a small business. This role is a key contributor to the Finance & Accounting team, independently managing end-to-end accounts receivable activities to maintain billing accuracy, healthy customer accounts, and strong cash flow.

• Pay: $60000–$80000 yearly
• Team: Key contributor role within Vertosoft’s Finance & Accounting team.
• Mission: Manages end-to-end accounts receivable activities to ensure billing accuracy, healthy customer accounts, and strong cash flow.
• Tech Stack: ERP, NetSuite (preferred), Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Billing & Account Management: Manage invoicing for assigned customers, including complex arrangements, and ensure timely and accurate billing cycles.
• Collections & Customer Support: Proactively manage collections efforts, resolve customer disputes, and serve as a primary contact for AR-related inquiries.
• Reconciliation & Month-End Close: Reconcile the AR subledger to the general ledger and support revenue-related accruals, adjustments, and month-end close activities.
• Process Improvement & Controls: Identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency and accuracy, follow internal controls, and support AR-related audit requests.
• Internal Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to resolve account issues and collaborate with accounting and other stakeholders to improve processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a strong understanding of billing, collections, and account reconciliation.
• Experience: 2–5 years of accounts receivable or accounting experience, including ERP experience, with NetSuite experience preferred.
• Skills: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, strong organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and customer communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience in government contracting, SaaS, or technology environments; familiarity with revenue recognition concepts; experience supporting audits.
