The Tone:
This is a highly visible role on the client’s Finance Team, located in the Greater St. Louis Metro Area. The client is adding a crucial member to their finance function, seeking a well-rounded individual with robust experience spanning FP&A, financial and business analytics, modeling, and investment decision support. This position is vital for analyzing and interpreting financial data, connecting it to potential business trends and issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The insights generated by this role will directly inform company leadership, helping to shape strategic direction and optimize financial performance.

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports into the Finance Team; serves as a primary contact for Regional GMs and Plant Managers.
• Mission: To analyze and interpret financial data, identify trends and business issues, and provide critical insights to leadership for profit enhancement and operational excellence.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Oracle, Power BI

What You’ll Actually Do
• Profit Enhancement: Analyze current and past financial data and performance to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance profitability.
• Trend Analysis: Consistently analyze and interpret financial information from both routine and ad-hoc reports to recognize changing trends, patterns, and their meaning related to key performance indicators.
• Strategic Modeling: Develop financial models and provide robust financial and business analytics to support investment decisions and FP&A processes.
• Leadership Communication: Translate complex financial insights into understandable themes and discoveries, communicating potential business issues to company leadership, including Regional GMs and Plant Managers.
• Operational Excellence: Drive initiatives focused on standardization, benchmarking, continuous improvement, and implementing best practices across financial functions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: 1 – 3+ years of experience in financial analysis and modeling.
• Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel; strong analytical mindset to analyze and interpret financial data; ability to communicate important themes and discoveries to company leadership.
• Bonus: Public accounting experience is a plus; familiarity with Oracle and/or Power BI is preferred.
