Area Manager 2026 – Michigan & Illinois (Recent and Upcoming Graduates) | Amazon

The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level position at Amazon, located within one of its fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, or other operations buildings across Michigan and Illinois. Amazon builds and manages a vast global operations network to deliver products to customers efficiently. This role is crucial for engaging, leading, and developing teams of hourly employees who ensure the smooth flow of goods within this network. As a leader, you will directly contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance for customer satisfaction.

• Mission: Engage, lead, and develop a team of hourly employees to meet operational goals and maintain high standards of safety, quality, attendance, and performance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Engage, lead, and develop a team of hourly employees within a warehouse environment.
• People Management: Support, mentor, and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates to achieve their goals.
• Operational Oversight: Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, and operate PIT equipment as needed.
• Performance Management: Ensure your team maintains the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance at work.
• Autonomous Operation: Work independently and operate effectively within an autonomous environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position requiring a bachelor’s or master’s degree, with all requirements completed between May 2024 and August 2026.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required; focused on recent and upcoming graduates ready to lead teams.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent customer service, and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Bonus: Currently enrolled in or graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering, or a related field.
