Sales And Leadership Trainee | Hajoca Corporation

The Tone:
This is a full-time Sales and Leadership Trainee position at Hajoca Corporation, located in Bentonville, AR. Hajoca, founded in 1858, is one of the country’s largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, with its HJC division specializing in construction materials for major retail chains. This role is a multi-year rotational program designed to invest in a trainee’s future by exposing them to all aspects of the business and developing them into a future leader in sales, operations, or management. The program is crucial for cultivating talented individuals who will guide the company successfully into the future.

The TL;DR

• Team: Part of a development program, receiving coaching and guidance from experienced managers and mentors.
• Mission: To learn all aspects of the business and develop into a future sales, operations, or management leader.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel), applicable software systems and technology used in day-to-day business operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations: Learn about and perform work related to business operations, including receiving, shipping material, processing returned goods, and making deliveries.
• Counter Sales: Gain experience in counter sales, assisting customers and teammates, processing sales orders, and providing reliable product information.
• Sales Tasks: Learn about and gain experience in sales, completing tasks related to pricing, margin management, bids, quotes, and product procurement.
• Relationship Building: Develop relationships with vendors and participate in joint sales calls with outside salespersons.
• Career Planning: Participate in an in-depth career discussion to align personal interests with business needs for future career pathing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College degree or equivalent experience; Entry-Level career seeking a long-term role in sales, operations, or management.
• Experience: Prior experience in customer service, sales, management, or leadership roles. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and a compliant driving record for company business.
• Skills: Possess excellent communication and listening skills, demonstrate the ability to build influential relationships and foster teamwork, effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Capable of quickly learning and operating various software systems and material-handling equipment, proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and able to rapidly acquire knowledge of company products.
