Capacity Manager | Hirschbach
The Tone:

This role is critical for managing relationships with contract carriers, ensuring the company delivers reliable, cost-effective transportation solutions and exceptional service while upholding high service standards and contributing to the organization’s efficiency and profitability.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Carrier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with contract carriers to secure reliable transportation solutions.
• Carrier Acquisition & Data: Continuously engage in new carrier acquisition, qualification, and organize detailed records of carrier contact information, preferred lanes, and rates.
• Load Coverage & Communication: Manage load coverage through proactive outbound calls, utilizing load boards, and direct carrier outreach, clearly communicating load-specific expectations including tracking compliance.
• Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Monitor and enforce performance standards with carriers, actively identifying opportunities to improve service, efficiency, and profitability.
• Internal Collaboration & Responsiveness: Actively collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and respond promptly to all carrier communications via email and phone.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a basic understanding of logistics functions and load booking.
• Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or a customer-facing support role.
• Skills: Carrier relationship building, data organization, load coverage management, clear communication of expectations, performance monitoring, timely and professional responsiveness to communications.
• Bonus: Eagerness to learn carrier operations, tracking tools, and freight booking systems.
