Research Operations Specialist | AlixPartners
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at AlixPartners, located in Dallas, Texas or Southfield, MI, operating under a hybrid work model. • Mission: Manage and continuously improve the operational processes and research resources of the Business Intelligence Center to ensure efficient functioning and seamless service delivery.
• Tech Stack: SharePoint (AlixHub, Vault), External client portals (Gartner, Dow Jones, BvD, LexisNexis), Concur, Ironclad/Spring, Teams, ServiceNow
What You’ll Actually Do
• Administer Research Contracts: Manage global research contracts, including evaluating renewal needs, periodically reviewing usage, onboarding and offboarding users, and allocating invoice costs across various Industries and Service Lines.
• Guide Resource Implementation: Aid colleagues in implementing new research resources by guiding them through the business case process, encompassing budgets, approvals, demos, and procurement to ensure agreement by all parties.
• Manage Vendor Relationships: Serve as a key relationship manager for research and information providers, handling day-to-day vendor interactions, negotiating annual contracts and fees, coordinating business reviews, and facilitating user training to maximize resource adoption and value.
• Enhance Operational Processes: Maintain and continuously improve core operational processes that support the effective day-to-day functioning of the Business Intelligence Center, ensuring compliance, consistency, and effective risk management.
• Coordinate Team Communications & Onboarding: Coordinate and facilitate monthly team meetings and communications, administer onboarding activities for new team members, and maintain BIC policies, procedures, and internal documentation (BICHub and Vault).
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum one year of relevant experience is required. A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred, though work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant experience, ideally within a professional services environment, with proven proficiency in various internal and external tools and platforms that support research and operations.
• Skills: Effective verbal and written communication for delivering clear messages and collaborating within and across teams, results-orientation with a focus on timely, high-quality outcomes, a strong customer service mindset, and excellent time management and organizational skills to adapt to changing needs. Ability to work independently with professionalism, accountability, and high attention to detail.
• Bonus: Professional services environment experience is preferred. Comfort with leveraging firm-approved AI tools and technology to support day-to-day work efficiencies and enhance productivity.
