1st Shift Leadership Trainee | WebstaurantStore
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at WebstaurantStore, located in Dayton, NV. WebstaurantStore serves as the premier online source for restaurant equipment, supplies, and knowledge for foodservice professionals. This role is crucial for developing our business and meeting the purchasing needs of our customers worldwide by preparing future leaders in operations and supply chain management. The 8-week rotational program is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and experience, aiming to transition successful trainees into a leadership position within the distribution center.
The TL;DR

• Mission: To prepare candidates for a leadership role by teaching operations and supply chain management to ensure higher quality, greater inventory accuracy, and improved service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Manage day-to-day decisions for assigned departments or shifts regarding performance, process, and leadership.
• Learn: Understand the processes of each department, identify interconnections, and propose areas for improvement within the supply chain.
• Engage: Participate actively in leadership discussions and apply WebstaurantStore leadership principles to daily work situations.
• Monitor: Track daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for assigned departments, resolving operating issues and supporting corrective actions.
• Communicate: Interact regularly with employees to foster high engagement and ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company rules.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level leadership track role, with a value placed on relevant skills and experience over a specific degree in operations and supply chain management.
• Experience: Not specified.
• Skills: Demonstrates initiative to work independently, exhibits analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, possesses strong written and oral communication skills, and can adapt quickly to changing business needs while handling difficult situations with diplomacy.
• Bonus: Preferred 1-2 years of leadership experience managing a team of more than 15 employees, or experience working in a distribution environment.
