Senior Sales Engineer | Mimecast

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mimecast, located in Hybrid, Australia (New South Wales), Australia. Mimecast is a leader in email security, evolving into a connected Human Risk Management platform that includes email security, data protection, insider risk, security awareness training, digital communications governance, and AI-powered threat intelligence. This role is crucial for bringing Mimecast’s comprehensive platform story to life for enterprise customers and channel partners across the ANZ region, addressing the human layer as the biggest attack surface in cybersecurity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Technical Strategy: Own the technical strategy for complex, multi-product enterprise opportunities from discovery through technical close.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver executive-level presentations and demonstrations to IT, security, and business stakeholders.
• Proof-of-Value Leadership: Lead and scope proof-of-value engagements tied to defined success criteria, including complex or strategic deployments.
• Partner Enablement: Enable channel and distribution partners through joint selling, technical enablement sessions, and partner-facing content.
• Team Mentorship: Mentor and coach junior Sales Engineers on technical depth, deal strategy, and presentation skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level Sales Engineer or Solutions Engineer, ideally from a cybersecurity or SaaS vendor, with a degree-level education preferred.
• Experience: 8+ years in a Senior Sales Engineer role, with demonstrated experience enabling and selling through channel and distribution partners, and working with large or strategic enterprise accounts.
• Skills: Hands-on technical knowledge across data protection/insider risk, email security, strong presentation, demonstration, and written communication skills, and general awareness of the competitive security landscape.
• Bonus: Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Claude) to aid in day-to-day job requirements and relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
