What You’ll Actually Do
• Review: Analyze prior year work papers, interim financial statements, or tax returns to understand client history and context.
• Perform: Execute audit procedures for moderately complex areas or prepare individual, business, and trust tax returns for detailed review.
• Document: Identify and draft relevant management letter comments supported by factual information, or ensure all tax issues are addressed and work papers are complete.
• Understand: Maintain knowledge of clients’ policies, procedures, business conditions, basic accounting practices, and their inter-relationships with financial information systems.
• Calculate: Prepare tax liability projections for corporate and individual clients, and calculate tax extension and estimate payments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuit of an accounting major for an eventual CPA license, with completion of Intermediate Financial Accounting I by the start of the internship. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Preferred graduation dates with 150 credit hours are December 2026 – May 2028. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required, alongside initiative and drive demonstrated through leadership experiences or work.
• Skills: Strong, hands-on Excel proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication skills, advanced problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, and a motivation to continuously learn and improve.
• Bonus: Completion of a Tax or Audit class is preferred but not required.
