This is a Supply Chain Intern (Co-Op) position at Precision Castparts, located in Phoenix, AZ. Precision Castparts is a significant manufacturer operating production facilities, and this internship offers a direct opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of its supply chain operations. The role is critical for identifying and implementing solutions that optimize purchasing processes, reduce overall spending, and streamline the flow of materials essential for manufacturing parts and achieving site cost savings goals.

• Team: Supply Chain team, working with purchasing analysts and a supply chain supervisor.
• Mission: Identify and implement solutions to reduce spending, streamline processes, and achieve cost savings within the supply chain.
• Tech Stack: Product life cycle systems, ERP systems
What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Optimization: Identify trends in purchasing and implement practical solutions aimed at reducing overall spending and optimizing inventory levels across the supply chain.
• Process Immersion: Shadow purchasing analysts to gain a comprehensive understanding of core purchasing processes, manufacturing operations, standard work procedures, product life cycle systems, and critical ERP systems.
• Inventory Reduction: Support lead time analysis for supplied materials and production schedules to proactively identify opportunities and implement strategies for inventory reduction.
• Collaborative Support: Actively participate in team meetings, accurately capturing key action items and diligently ensuring their timely follow-up and completion.
• Supplier Engagement & Analysis: Contribute to the review of existing suppliers and current supply chain trends, with a focus on identifying specific areas for cost savings and gaining exposure to supplier interaction and management.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience required; previous experience in a supply chain or business role is a plus.
• Skills: Demonstrate efficient time management for prioritizing, organizing, and completing tasks effectively; exhibit strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail; possess the ability to communicate professionally and work cooperatively within a team environment; approach challenges with proactive, hands-on strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset; show a willingness to learn new concepts and support the training of others.
• Bonus: Preferred junior year standing.
