• Mission: This person translates customer needs and security outcomes into well-scoped work, crisp requirements, and shippable increments for DigitalOcean’s Security Products.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Own Execution: Own the end-to-end execution of one or more Security Products workstreams, translating strategy and customer needs into clear requirements, sequencing, and shippable increments.
• Product Ownership: Serve as the technical product owner by maintaining a healthy backlog, writing high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria, and unblocking engineering with fast decisions and clear tradeoffs.
• Delivery Partnership: Partner deeply with engineering leadership to drive delivery planning, estimates, dependency management, and release readiness, ensuring predictable outcomes and minimal rework.
• Customer Communication: Produce clear written narratives and launch assets explaining customer value, expected behavior, and operational considerations, and create reusable templates and workflows for consistent product launches and incident updates.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with UX, UI, and various internal teams including Security, IAM, Networking, Support, and Billing to ensure integrated customer journeys, clear ownership boundaries, and clean remediation paths.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior level product management focused on security products.
• Experience: 5+ years in Product Management or a related technical field, with prior product experience in cloud, SaaS, or security products, and a strong ability to translate strategy and customer needs into clear engineering requirements, sequencing, and shippable increments.
• Skills: Strong writing skills for producing clear requirements and documentation, experience with 0 to 1 product development or early-stage product execution, experience working with design tools (like Figma), UX, and UI teams, and comfort working in an evolving, fast-paced environment with a bias toward action.
• Bonus: Understanding of security concepts such as posture management, IAM, logging, or WAF is preferred.
