Accounting/Finance Intern Fall 2026 (PA or KY) | PPL Corporation

The Tone:
This is a hybrid internship at PPL Corporation, located in Allentown, PA or Louisville, KY. PPL Corporation is one of the largest investor-owned utility companies, providing essential energy services to 3.5 million customers across multiple states. This role is crucial for supporting the evolving energy industry by helping the PPL Services team improve how rates and other regulatory reports are filed, contributing to the company’s commitment to long-term, sustainable value and a cleaner energy future.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (20-30 hours/week during spring and fall semesters, part-time or full-time during summers)
• Location: Hybrid, Allentown, PA or Louisville, KY
• Team: PPL Services team, reporting to a manager.
• Mission: Improve processes for filing rates and regulatory reports with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and State Public Utility Commissions.
• Tech Stack: Excel spreadsheets

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare supporting schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and filings with federal and state regulatory bodies.
• Ensure: Ensure accounting and reporting practices comply with FERC and other regulatory requirements, assisting with the timely adoption of new regulations.
• Support: Support the preparation of various regulatory filings, including those for distribution and transmission rates and other required reports.
• Help: Help to improve existing control documentation and update procedural guidelines.
• Perform: Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics, with a basic understanding of financial and accounting theory and principles.
• Experience: Will graduate from their academic program within 12-24 months of internship completion.
• Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including expertise with Excel spreadsheets, along with good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team, both in-person and virtually.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.00 GPA, eligibility to work in the United States, and the ability to provide an official student transcript.
