Manager-Security Tech and Oper-SOC | Mayo Clinic
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mayo Clinic, located in Rochester, MN, with up to 25% travel as required. Mayo Clinic is a leading healthcare institution, and this position is a key member of its Security leadership team. The role is critical for guiding the Security Operations Center, which encompasses real-time threat intelligence and security dispatch operations, and for overseeing the design and maintenance of leading practice security technology processes, tools, and analytics across the enterprise.

• Mission: Lead the Security Operations Center while driving the standardization of security technology and tools to enhance enterprise-wide security posture.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Leadership: Assist the Director in establishing the strategic direction for work teams or service lines, overseeing the design and maintenance of leading practice security technology processes, tools, and analytics.
• Team Management: Supervise a team by managing and prioritizing workloads, approving the scope, milestones, and objectives of assignments, facilitating roadblock removal, and providing challenging work to bolster staff satisfaction and retention.
• Technology Standardization: Drive the standardization of security technology and tools across the enterprise to enable centralized monitoring, reporting, analytics, mobility, workflow, and training, managing a team focused on delivering enterprise security technology solutions.
• Enterprise Security Advancement: Work directly with and support peers and partners to drive the enterprise security model forward, encompassing Intelligence, Data, Policies, Standards, Procedures, Communications, Training, and Education.
• Operational Planning & Incident Response: Develop operational protocols, plans, processes, and metrics for designated security services, and work with crisis/incident management teams to develop strategies for preparation and response to various events.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Security Management, Business Management, Organizational Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years (8 years with a relevant Master’s Degree) in Physical Security, Information Technology, Security Systems IT, Project Management, Business/Security Informatics, Security Architecture/Design Strategy, System Analysis/Implementation, or related functions, with at least 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience.
• Skills: Advanced professional and culturally astute communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to generate and deliver executive-level presentations; interpersonal skills to interact effectively and negotiate on high-risk issues at all organizational levels; solid knowledge of security concepts and trends, project management methodologies, and relevant healthcare security regulatory requirements.
• Bonus: Master’s Degree in an associated field is preferred; Certified Protection Professional, Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator, or Physical Security Professional certification (or obtained within two years of hire); knowledge and understanding of business processes within a healthcare institution; knowledge and understanding of corporate security processes.
