The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Raymond James, located in Charlotte, NC. Raymond James is one of the largest independent financial services firms in the country, a diversified holding company headquartered in St. Petersburg, FL, focused on providing trusted advice and tailored strategies for individuals, corporations, and municipalities. This role is for a Summer Analyst within Capital Markets & Advisory, offering a high level of responsibility on business-significant matters. As a Summer Analyst, you will enhance your financial analysis skills, gain a deep understanding of capital markets, and contribute to projects with significant scope and impact for the firm.

• Mission: To contribute to and generate ideas on projects with significant scope and impact by working on every aspect of the transaction process.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Modeling: Develop financial models to assess debt and equity financing alternatives for transactions.
• Valuation: Perform valuation methodologies, including comparative company analysis and discounted cash flow analysis on target companies.
• Advisory: Provide meaningful input for equity offerings, valuations, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions advisories.
• Research & Documentation: Research, analyze, present, and document drafting elements of developing transactions.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with Senior Bankers to develop strategies for client presentations and create unique materials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program, with a foundational understanding of Investment Banking concepts, securities industry practices, tax and accounting principles, and financial markets and products.
• Experience: 4 to 6 months of general work experience.
• Skills: Effective oral and written communication, analytical skills to assess and explain market events, problem-solving and solution design, independent thinking for strategy development, and proficiency in utilizing technology for presentations and reports.
