Associate, New Verticals – Catalog Strategy & Operations | DoorDash

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at DoorDash, operating in a hybrid model and based out of San Francisco, CA. This role is crucial for growing new verticals by enhancing merchant onboarding speed, quality, and accuracy through operational processes and new technologies, directly impacting the entire marketplace.

• Mission: Improve merchant onboarding speed, quality, and accuracy for new verticals through tools, technologies, and operational processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Accelerate analysis and improve workflows by embracing AI tools and emerging technologies to drive data-informed decisions for new vertical initiatives.
• Build: Develop strategic initiatives, from high-level strategy to operational details, that impact Dashers, Consumers, and Merchants across various programs like shopper rewards and merchant onboarding.
• Collaborate: Advocate internally for product or operations solutions to enhance the user experience, unlock growth, and reduce costs by working with central partners.
• Lead: Guide cross-functional work streams to establish operating playbooks, processes, and guidelines for New Verticals-wide initiatives such as the Dasher Shop & Deliver platform and the Shopper program.
• Strategize: Formulate the strategy for connecting local communities with consumers, ensuring perfect quality, speed, and accuracy, and create quarterly and annual plans aligned with product capabilities to enhance existing offerings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree, demonstrating a foundational understanding of problem-solving from first principles and a readiness to operate at detailed levels while thinking long-term.
• Experience: Possess 1-3+ years of experience thriving in high-performing cultures, including tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or startups.
• Skills:
1. Analytical Proficiency: Adept at using AI tools to synthesize information, streamline workflows, and solve complex business challenges, with proven experience in data analysis, insight generation, and communicating recommendations via dashboards and visualizations.
2. Foundational Problem-Solving: Ability to approach challenges from first principles, resisting conventional thinking to drive innovative solutions.
3. Operational Acumen: Comfortable immersing in operational details while maintaining a strategic, long-term perspective to inform decisions.
