Job Description
Business Operations | talentpluto
The Tone:
This is an early operations role at talentpluto, located in New York, NY, operating in a hybrid work model. Our partner is a fast-growing startup that builds software helping companies optimize their cloud costs. With revenue roughly doubling every couple of weeks and a quickly scaling team across sales, engineering, and design, this is an early and crucial operations seat. The role is designed to take on the people and administrative work essential for keeping a fast-moving company humming, with significant room to grow as the business scales.
The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career
• Location: Hybrid, New York, NY
• Mission: This role owns logistics, builds processes from scratch, and manages the essential administrative work that supports a rapidly growing team and falls between the cracks as the company expands.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Event Planning: Plan and coordinate team events and customer dinners, often multiple times per month, ensuring smooth logistics for these crucial engagements.
• Administrative Management: Manage various contracts and handle the general administrative work that does not fit neatly into anyone else’s role, keeping essential operations organized.
• People and Office Support: Support the people function and day-to-day office operations, contributing to a seamless and efficient working environment for the team.
• Process Development: Build lightweight processes from scratch that are designed to scale effectively as the team and company continue to grow rapidly.
• Gap Ownership: Take on ownership of various tasks and work that falls between the cracks as the company expands, embodying a true generalist and problem-solver approach.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. This role is intended for an early operations professional who is a true early-stage generalist, eager to own logistics and build foundational processes from scratch as they grow alongside the company.
• Experience: Requires a highly organized self-starter who can independently figure out complex logistics and execute tasks effectively. Demonstrated comfort operating with ambiguity in a fast-paced, early-stage environment is critical for success.
• Skills: Possesses strong people and communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers. Exhibits high agency and a genuine willingness to own the unglamorous, yet essential, work that keeps a rapidly growing team running efficiently.
• Bonus: Experience supporting business operations, recruiting functions, or chief-of-staff-type work is considered a significant advantage. A non-traditional background is also welcomed and seen as a valuable asset for this role.
