Live Streaming Internship | City Explorer – Live Streaming Hub

The Tone:
This is an internship at City Explorer – Live Streaming Hub, located in San Francisco. City Explorer operates a platform dedicated to bringing cities to life through live content, showcasing authentic local experiences and everyday scenes for a global audience. This role is crucial for transforming the vibrant essence of San Francisco’s streets, neighbourhoods, markets, and food spots into engaging live streams. Interns will directly contribute to building a unique content library and connecting viewers with the city’s authentic charm, supported by provided equipment, training, and promotion, developing their skills as live broadcasters.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Livestream the authentic local experiences of San Francisco, including streets, markets, and food spots, to create engaging content for a global audience.
• Tech Stack: Smartphone, Gimbal Stabiliser, Microphone, GoPro Setup

What You’ll Actually Do
• Live Broadcasting: Livestream interesting and authentic areas of San Francisco, covering streets, neighbourhoods, markets, food spots, and everyday local life using a smartphone.
• Content Curation: Plan compelling walking routes and identify unique local experiences that resonate with viewers and offer genuine local insights.
• Schedule Adherence: Commit to a consistent weekly schedule, ensuring a minimum of 5 hours of live streaming per week are completed.
• Viewer Engagement: Exercise the option to directly speak and interact with viewers during streams or utilize moderators to manage the live chat, without the need to show your face.
• Skill Development: Work collaboratively with an assigned coach to receive ongoing feedback and improve the quality and professionalism of each live stream.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. This internship does not require any previous live streaming experience, existing audience, professional equipment, or on-camera appearance.
• Experience: The ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months for the internship duration, consistently delivering at least 5 hours of live streaming per week.
• Skills:
• Reside in San Francisco and possess in-depth knowledge of local areas beyond typical tourist destinations.
• Comfortably and safely navigate the city by walking, driving, or riding while simultaneously live streaming.
• Own a smartphone equipped with a good camera and a reliable mobile data plan.
• Demonstrate dependability and adherence to a consistent weekly schedule for live broadcasts.
• Conversational English proficiency is preferred for viewer interaction.
• Bonus: Fluency in additional languages is a welcome qualification, enhancing the ability to connect with a broader international audience.
