Operations Manager – Flow Center – Perth Amboy, NJ | Target

The Tone:
This is an Operations Manager role at Target, located in Perth Amboy, NJ. Target is a company focused on helping all families discover the joy of everyday life by efficiently getting products to guests through its robust Distribution and Receive Centers. This role is critical as it stands on the front lines of logistics, directly influencing safety, leading teams, solving complex problems, and ensuring the swift flow of products. The individual in this position will have a direct impact on the productivity and development of thousands of fellow team members and the satisfaction of Target guests worldwide.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, Perth Amboy, NJ
• Pay: $73000–$132000 yearly
• Team: Distribution and Receive Centers within Logistics
• Mission: Own the maximization of team productivity, growth, and development while fostering a safety-first culture and ensuring operational plan execution.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Foster: Cultivate a safety-first culture through continuous awareness, comprehensive training, and clear accountability for all team members.
• Lead: Establish yourself as an engaging and inclusive leader responsible for maximizing your team’s productivity, fostering their growth, and supporting their development.
• Manage: Ensure that operational plans are executed precisely, performance and budget goals are achieved by working with a sense of urgency, and teams are well-informed and coordinated across functions.
• Innovate: Drive efficiency and future process flow optimization by autonomously developing and implementing new approaches to existing processes and methods.
• Solve: Identify and resolve root causes of operational problems through calculated risk-taking and thorough testing within a supportive environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Four-year degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership ability, specifically with the capacity to effectively engage and motivate others within an operational setting.
• Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, reasoning, conflict-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Ability to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including mezzanine platforms and traverse conveyor crossovers, and capability to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to operate systems and perform updates.
