Payroll Accountant | McKesson

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, Traditional office environment
• Pay: $76400–$127400 yearly
• Team: Payroll department team, assists senior and senior manager
• Mission: Ensures accurate general ledger account reconciliations and payroll accruals through meticulous accounting analyses and projects.
• Tech Stack: SAP (or other large Enterprise Software), Workday, Advanced Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Close: Manage the monthly general ledger close process, including preparing GL account reconciliations, posting journal entries, processing GL interfaces, and conducting variance analyses.
• Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries for garnishments, PAC contributions, and other payroll-related accruals for both US and European operations.
• Accounting Solutions: Provide general ledger mapping and accounting solutions at both department and business unit levels.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct GL research and financial analysis for various Business Units to support decision-making.
• Operational Support: Maintain Standard Operating Procedures, manage the escheatment filing process, and provide back-up support for other payroll accounting team members.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a solid understanding of accounting and financial statements as they relate to Payroll.
• Experience: 3-4 years of accounting experience, including experience with SAP or other large Enterprise Software, and Workday system experience.
• Skills: Very strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities with short deadlines, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
