Bookkeeper | Motorenn

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Motorenn, located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. Motorenn is a startup focused on transforming how premium used vehicles are bought and sold, offering high-quality inventory, white glove service, and operational excellence. The company emphasizes a joyful, transparent experience, moving away from traditional high-pressure sales through careful vehicle selection, exhaustive inspections, and data-driven pricing. This role is crucial in supporting Motorenn’s financial operations by maintaining accurate records and ensuring the timely processing of transactions within its unique automotive retail and e-commerce environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record: Record journal entries accurately in the general ledger.
• Reconcile: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts to ensure financial data integrity.
• Manage: Manage accounts payable and receivable, processing transactions efficiently.
• Support: Support month-end and year-end closing activities and assist with financial statement and management report preparation.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with operations and management teams to ensure financial data accurately reflects vehicle purchases, sales, and related fees, while maintaining compliance with internal controls.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate recording of daily transactions, maintenance of general ledgers, and ability to create, post, and reconcile journal entries. Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing financial statements to support internal reporting and decision-making. Proficiency with accounting software and related digital tools used for finance and operational tracking.
• Skills: Attention to detail; strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; knowledge of basic finance principles including cash flow, revenue recognition, and expense tracking.
• Bonus: Relevant experience in retail, automotive, or startup environments.
