The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Deloitte Global Finance, supporting a global team. The Deloitte Global Finance Team acts as a Business Advisor to internal clients and Deloitte Global firms, focusing on strategic insights, initiatives, collaboration, and financial reporting and analysis. This role is crucial for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring compliance and the accuracy of financial information across the global enterprise.

The TL;DR

• Team: Manages the general ledger team within Deloitte Global Finance.
• Mission: To manage daily accounting operations, oversee the general ledger team and accounting processes, coordinate financial statement deliverables, and ensure compliance with Global accounting policies and procedures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Closing: Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, conducting account and variance analysis, and coordinating audits.
• Reporting Generation: Generate accurate financial statements in full accordance with IFRS accounting standards and internal policies and procedures.
• System Implementation: Assist in establishing financial systems and metrics designed to measure and communicate the accurate financial status of the organization.
• Process Oversight: Maintain, document, and thoroughly review processes for internal controls, while also streamlining department functions to optimize productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Strategic Projects: Support year-end external audits and advance Global Finance strategic initiatives by attending meetings, providing subject matter expertise, preparing ad hoc reports, and collaborating on C-suite initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required for this Manager-level position.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including prior managerial experience. Experience with core business cycles of accounting such as treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger is essential.
• Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, proven ability to build relationships, establish trust, identify needs, customize solutions, and motivate teams. Candidates must possess outstanding research, analytical, and quantitative aptitude with advanced attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and with larger teams.
• Bonus: A CPA certification is preferred, along with prior experience working with external auditors. International experience, either working with or for an organization that had multinational operations, is also preferred, as is proficiency in SAP.
