Food Service Director | Great Western Dining Service, Inc.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, Denison, TX
• Mission: Owns the planning, organizing, and directing of all food service operations to provide quality nutritional services to residents.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Operations: Direct all food service operations according to current standards, guidelines, and regulations to assure quality nutritional services.
• Manage Staff: Supervise and develop food service staff through hiring, evaluation, scheduling, and conducting in-service training classes.
• Oversee Culinary: Plan, prepare, present, and deliver all meals, ensuring menu plans are followed, food is ready on time, and proper temperature levels are met.
• Control Budget & Inventory: Manage budget, inventory, and portion controls, including ordering all food within guidelines and maintaining accurate inventories.
• Ensure Compliance & Cleanliness: Maintain a sanitary work environment and clean dining room, conforming to all local codes and policies regarding food storage, handling, and serving.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school education or equivalent, with prior experience as a Food Service Director in a high-quality hotel, resort, restaurant, or health care setting.
• Experience: At least 1 year of required experience across food, management, food & beverage management, and food service management.
• Skills: Ability to follow approved, standardized recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets, make independent decisions without supervision, possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), interact tactfully with residents, staff, and the public, and obtain and maintain a Serv Safe/Food Handler’s Permit.
• Bonus: College courses or other education in food service and/or management, along with completion of an approved course in quantity food purchasing, production, service, and nutrition.
