AEO Marketing Intern | Nylas
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Nylas, located remotely within the San Francisco Bay Area or Denver Metro Area. Nylas provides APIs to help developers add email, calendar, and contact management features securely into applications, supporting over 100,000 developers and 900 companies globally. This role is crucial for ensuring Nylas is accurately represented and recommended across emerging AI-powered search and answer engines. The intern will work on a rapidly evolving area of modern marketing, influencing how developers discover and learn about the Nylas platform.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze AI Visibility: Run competitive queries in Profound to track Nylas’ presence and citation share across AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, and Google AI Overviews, flagging instances where competitors are cited but Nylas is not.
• Optimize Web Pages: Audit existing Nylas pages for issues that hinder AI citation, such as self-promotion bias, and recommend and implement fixes on high-priority product comparison guides and solution pages.
• Measure Content Impact: Measure the effectiveness of content improvements using Profound and other SEO metrics, iterating on strategies based on results to enhance AI citation.
• Collaborate on Content Strategy: Partner with the content and product marketing teams to integrate AEO insights into new blog posts and pages, contributing prompts and queries to test the AI answer landscape.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student (Junior or Senior preferred) or recent graduate within the last 12 months, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or a related program.
• Experience: Hands-on experience with Large Language Model (LLM) tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, using them for learning and completing tasks.
• Skills: Curiosity about how AI-generated answers are sourced, ranked, and cited, an eagerness to experiment with improving brand visibility, clear writing, and comfort learning new tools quickly while working in an AI-first environment.
• Bonus: Familiarity with SEO tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) and exposure to AEO platforms (Profound, Otterly, Peec AI).
