Maintenance Technician I | Liberty Military Housing

The Tone:
This is an early career at Liberty Military Housing, located in-person within a military housing community. Liberty Military Housing is one of the largest providers of military family housing in the United States, committed to delivering safe, high-quality homes and exceptional service in partnership with the US military. This role is critical in providing safe, reliable, and well-maintained housing for active-duty service members and their families. Technicians are empowered to independently troubleshoot issues and complete repairs while adhering to safety, quality, and military installation standards.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Maintain, repair, and improve residential homes to provide safe, reliable, and well-maintained housing for military families.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on residential homes, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, and building systems.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and system issues to determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Service Response: Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Inspections: Conduct move-in, move-out, and routine home inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inventory using company systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or GED required with working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in residential, facilities, or maintenance work.
• Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and work orders, possession of a valid driver’s license, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and a customer service mindset.
• Bonus: HVAC, electrical, or maintenance certifications; experience working in residential housing or property management environments; familiarity with CMMS or workorder tracking systems; experience working on or near military installations; EPA Universal Certification.
