Fleet Management Assistant | Virginia Tech

• Mission: This person supports the smooth operation of Virginia Tech’s fleet by assisting with vehicle transport, cleaning, and general maintenance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transport: Safely transport a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, box trucks, and Utility Vehicles, to and from campus for inspections.
• Maintenance: Assist with the cleaning of vehicles and golf carts and perform general fleet maintenance tasks.
• Support: Provide support to the Business Manager, as needed, when not engaged in fleet assistance.
• Collaboration: Aid the lock shop and sign shop with tasks as required to support their operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Core domain knowledge in supporting fleet operations.
• Experience: Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, with proven ability to operate and transport various vehicle types.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills with attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Bonus: Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
