Executive Director, Commercial Insights & Advanced Analytics | Neurocrine Biosciences

The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership role at Neurocrine Biosciences, a leading biopharmaceutical company dedicated to relieving suffering for people with neurological, psychiatric, endocrine, and immunological disorders. This role is pivotal in driving enterprise decision-making through advanced analytics, AI-enabled insights, commercial forecasting, and competitive intelligence. As a strategic partner across various commercial functions, this leader will modernize commercial decision capabilities and ensure data optimization for portfolio, brand, and customer strategies, directly impacting the success of life-changing treatments.

• Team: Leads the Commercial Insights and Analytics function, encompassing commercial forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, performance analytics, advanced analytics, commercial measurement, and AI-enabled decision intelligence.
• Mission: To develop the long-term strategy for commercial forecasting and analytics, modernize commercial decision capabilities, and ensure the organization leverages data to optimize portfolio, brand, and customer decisions.
• Tech Stack: AI-enabled platforms, Marketing Mix Modeling (MMx), Key Driver Analysis (KDA), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms

What You’ll Actually Do
• Establish Vision: Develop and execute the long-term vision, strategy, and operating model for Commercial Insights and Analytics, aligning with enterprise and brand strategies while advancing AI-enabled capabilities.
• Lead & Develop Team: Guide a high-performing organization responsible for commercial forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, and advanced analytics, fostering a culture of innovation and leadership development.
• Partner Strategically: Collaborate with Commercial and cross-functional leaders to identify business opportunities, anticipate analytical needs, and deliver actionable insights and forecasts that shape commercial strategy.
• Drive Evidence-Based Decisions: Champion data-driven decision-making by providing clear, objective recommendations that influence commercial strategy, resource allocation, and go-to-market execution.
• Modernize Analytics Ecosystem: Lead the design and evolution of enterprise commercial measurement and optimization capabilities, including advanced analytical methodologies and AI-enabled decision support.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a quantitative discipline such as mathematics or statistics, at an executive leadership level with increasing accountability in pharmaceutical/biotech Commercial experience.
• Experience: 16+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech Commercial experience (or 14+ with a Master’s/MBA), with demonstrated expertise in commercial forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, business analytics, and leveraging AI-enabled insights to influence executive decision-making.
• Skills: Deep knowledge of biopharmaceutical analytical approaches, including descriptive and predictive analytics; broad understanding of commercial data strategy, governance frameworks, and emerging technologies; and a proven track record of building and leading high-performing organizations and influencing senior executives.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in business, science, or quantitative disciplines, or an MBA is preferred.
