Executive Director, Contracts, Pricing & Trade | Neurocrine Biosciences

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neurocrine Biosciences, located in San Diego, CA, USA. This Executive Director role is critical as it drives strategic leadership for the Contracts, Pricing & Trade function, directly impacting patient access to their life-changing treatments.

• Mission: This person owns the strategic oversight and operational execution of product pricing, payer and channel contracting, and government price reporting to ensure compliance and optimize market access for Neurocrine’s portfolio.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Government Reporting: Ensure compliance with government price reporting requirements, including IRA impacts, and oversee accurate and timely submissions of obligations like AMP, BP, FCP, and 340B/PHS.
• Pricing Leadership: Lead pricing and payer research for in-line and pipeline products, guiding pricing actions and product launches while overseeing the administration and governance of the Pricing Committee.
• Financial Forecasting: Lead quarterly Gross to Net (GTN) reviews for finance, assessing accuracy, summarizing key drivers for leadership, and supporting both short and long-term forecasts for existing and upcoming products.
• Access Strategy: Develop and manage analytical tools and models to assess deal scenarios for contracting across commercial, government, PBM, and long-term care markets, defining strategies with the team.
• Trade and Channel Management: Lead Neurocrine’s Trade and Channel strategy and operations, overseeing wholesaler and distributor relationships, negotiations, and inventory management to optimize GTN.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BS/BA degree in Engineering, Science, or Business. This Executive Director role requires deep knowledge of contracts, pricing, and trade within the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry.
• Experience: 17+ years of related industry experience, including extensive previous managerial experience with a proven ability to lead and influence senior management (C-suite). Demonstrated success in developing and applying strategy and operations for both in-line and new product launches, consistently exceeding formulary access and market share goals.
• Skills: Extensive expertise in commercial pricing & contracting, diversified experience across Medicaid, Specialty Pharmacy, and Trade/Distribution partners (3PL). Demonstrated ability to set up systems for managing gross to net calculations, contract development, administration, and rebate processing. Expert-level knowledge in government price reporting, Medicare, and Medicaid rebate execution and management.
• Bonus: MBA degree preferred.
