The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Providence Community Housing, located in New Orleans, LA. Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager dedicated to serving the Greater New Orleans area. This role is crucial for ensuring a supportive and welcoming environment for seniors, building on 60 years of excellence in managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments and empowering strong communities. This position allows you to make a positive impact on both residents and staff daily.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities
• Location: In-person, New Orleans, LA

• Mission: Ensure seniors have a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained affordable living environment by overseeing property operations and resident needs.
• Tech Stack: property management software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Oversee: Manage daily operations by reviewing emails, voicemails, and addressing urgent concerns for residents and site staff.
• Administer: Assist residents with lease signings, process maintenance requests, and coordinate with vendors for property upkeep.
• Support: Provide support to residents, fostering a strong sense of community and connection.
• Maintain: Keep detailed records and ensure continuous compliance with housing regulations.
• Respond: Handle occasional on-call responsibilities and urgent situations outside regular hours to ensure resident safety and well-being.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager. Core domain knowledge in HUD policies and procedures governing subsidized elderly housing and recertification.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required for this role.
• Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable using computers, reliable, adaptable.
• Bonus: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or similar is preferred. Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), Registered Apartment Manager (RAM) or Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) certification is a plus. Prior experience in property management or a related field, or working with the elderly or in a nonprofit setting, is preferred.
