What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Assistance: Assist fiscal personnel in preparing documents for external audits and perform internal program audits to ensure financial integrity.
• Contract Support: Participate in the development and ongoing monitoring of service contracts, including the auditing of contracted providers to verify compliance.
• Expense Reviews: Reconcile and monitor program expenses, revenues, and accounts receivables, and thoroughly review employee expenditure requests, vendor, and provider invoices for payment processing.
• Report Preparation: Help fiscal personnel prepare comprehensive financial reports for submission to multiple funding sources, and specifically prepare the Schedule of Existing Federal Awards.
• Fiscal Compliance: Ensure that all accounting work performed and reviewed adheres strictly to contractual agreements, established county procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A four-year college or university degree including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting, or an equivalent combination of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience with 15 college credits in accounting.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of professional accounting experience, OR one year as a Fiscal Technician coupled with 15 college credits in accounting, OR five years of bookkeeping experience with 15 college credits in accounting.
• Skills: Proficiency in financial data classification, analysis, and reporting; strong understanding of auditing processes; and knowledge of fiscal compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
