This is a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) position at Hopedale Medical Complex, located in Tremont, IL, with required flexibility to work in satellite offices. The TL;DR
• Role: CMA
• Type: Full-time (Monday-Friday with rotating Saturdays)
• Location: In-person, Tremont, IL and satellite offices
• Pay: $21–$24 hourly
• Team: Works under the direct supervision and direction of a physician, nurse, and/or Practice Manager
• Mission: To provide direct, professional nursing care to patients and comprehensive support across clinical and administrative functions within a physician’s office and satellite locations.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Preparation: Prepare visit sheets and all necessary paperwork for patient appointments, verifying that materials are ready prior to each scheduled appointment.
• Clinical Assessment: Greet patients and transport them to exam rooms, then accurately obtain and document vital signs, patient history, current medications, and chief complaint.
• Procedure Assistance: Assist physicians with examinations and various procedures, providing essential support to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
• Documentation & Requisitions: Complete all patient documentation in a timely, professional, and accurate manner, including diagnostic imaging and laboratory requisitions with approved diagnoses.
• Patient Communication: Provide and document patient education, including medication instructions, and notify patients of test results and physician comments/instructions once reviewed and approved.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Certification through a nationally recognized certifying agency as a Medical Assistant is required. CPR (BLS) certification is also required, or the ability to become certified upon hire.
• Experience: Demonstrated flexibility to work in any of the satellite offices, coupled with availability to work Saturday mornings on a rotating schedule (every 5th or 6th Saturday).
• Skills: Proficient in obtaining and documenting vital signs and patient history, assisting with examinations and procedures, accurate record-keeping, patient education, and effective patient communication regarding test results.
• Bonus: Prior experience with venipuncture is preferred.
