Shift Lead | Five Guys

The Tone:
This is an in-person leadership role at Five Guys, a brand known for its commitment to quality, teamwork, and consistency. Shift Leaders are pivotal, serving as hands-on leaders who shape the operational flow and guest experience during every shift. You will lead by example, working closely with your team to ensure every guest receives exceptional service and leaves impressed. This role is for a difference-maker who can step in to run restaurant operations when management is not on site.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Shift Leadership: Lead shift operations and confidently run the restaurant in the absence of management.
• Operational Versatility: Actively perform duties across all restaurant positions, including cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room.
• Guest Experience: Deliver fast, accurate service and consistently create a positive and memorable guest experience.
• Team Development: Coach, support, motivate, and help train new crew members to foster a high-performing and positive team culture.
• Standards and Administration: Maintain restaurant cleanliness, safety, and brand standards while managing essential shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experience in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting.
• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience, with leadership experience being preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, the ability to make decisions in a busy environment, basic math proficiency, and comfort using POS systems.
• Bonus: Food safety certification, such as ServSafe.
