Project Billing Analyst | IREN

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at IREN, located in Childress, TX. IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider that builds large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference, utilizing 100% renewable energy. This role is crucial for supporting the project management team by ensuring vendor invoices are accurate, compliant with contract terms, and processed efficiently. The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented and process-driven professional who effectively collaborates with project managers, vendors, and finance teams to maintain financial accountability within construction projects.

• Team: Construction Department, reporting to Project Cost Specialist
• Mission: Ensure vendor invoices are accurate, compliant, and processed efficiently by managing validation and resolving discrepancies.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, ERP systems (SAP preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoice Validation: Review and validate vendor invoices against contracts, purchase orders, and approved scope, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper cost allocation.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Coordinate with Project Cost Controllers and Procurement to resolve issues like underfunded, missing, or misaligned purchase orders and contracts.
• Approval Management: Work with project and construction managers to obtain necessary approvals and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Financial Monitoring: Monitor and analyze contractor burn rates on a weekly, monthly, and periodic basis, communicating potential funding shortfalls to project management teams.
• Month-End Support: Support finance and project management teams with month-end activities, including accruals, cost forecasting, AP reconciliation, and financial reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a related finance or administrative role.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational and time management abilities, effective written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP.
