Residual Value Accounting Senior Analyst | Toyota North America
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Toyota North America, with Toyota Financial Services (TFS), located in Plano, TX. Toyota is a globally admired brand, leading in mobility solutions, and TFS is its essential finance and insurance brand. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting by accurately executing the accounting process for Residual Value expense estimates within TFS’s Critical Accounting department. This position supports key business decisions and financial statement accuracy.

• Team: Critical Accounting Estimates Department | Reports to Accounting Manager
• Mission: Execute the monthly and quarterly accounting process for establishing TMCC Residual Value expense estimates accurately and on time.
• Tech Stack: SAS, Python, SQL
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Operations: Own monthly and quarterly residual value accounting activities, including journal entries and supporting analysis for accumulated depreciation, leasing, inventory net realizable value, and impairment review.
• Estimate Evaluation: Apply strong accounting judgment to evaluate assumptions, challenge modeling results, and ensure estimates align with business trends and expectations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Risk and Data Science teams to understand modeling inputs, assess methodology changes, and strengthen process controls.
• Reporting & Disclosures: Prepare complete and accurate support files for financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain and improve documentation such as SOX narratives, user guides, audit support, model documentation, and process transparency materials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, demonstrating core domain knowledge in accounting principles.
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience supporting accounting processes, with hands-on experience supporting SOX-compliant accounting processes and control requirements, and project management experience.
• Skills: Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting principles, including experience with accounting estimates, and strong written communication skills to explain complex technical and business issues clearly.
• Bonus: CPA license preferred; experience with SAS, Python, and/or SQL or willingness to learn; experience supporting analytical or process improvement initiatives; prior exposure to cross-functional strategic programs or enterprise-level accounting enhancements.
