The Tone:

This position is vital for designing and implementing diverse activity programs that cater to the individual interests and enhance the physical, mental, and psychosocial health of each resident. The Activity Director plays a key role in enriching the daily lives of residents through engaging and supportive activities.

The TL;DR
• Location: In-person

• Mission: To develop and provide an ongoing program of activities that meets resident interests and supports their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Development: Develop and plan a comprehensive program of activities, including social, spiritual, creative, educational, and exercise-based programs.
• Team Leadership: Provide oversight and guidance to Activity Aides, ensuring effective program delivery and resident engagement.
• Documentation & Reporting: Review resident goals and progress notes, and accurately complete MDS reports to reflect resident participation and outcomes.
• Community Engagement: Foster meaningful relationships with family members and community partners to gather support and resources for the Activity department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or its equivalent. Satisfactory completion of a training course for Activity Directors.
• Experience: 2 years minimum of experience in a social or recreational program within a nursing facility.
• Skills: Activity program development and implementation, MDS report documentation, fostering community partnerships.
