The Tone:
This is a contract role at Global Technical Talent, an Inc. 5000 Company, for their client in San Ramon, CA, offering hybrid flexibility. The client is a utility/energy provider actively undergoing a major digital transformation. This role is crucial for the client’s Electric Operations Strategy team, ensuring strategic priorities related to safety, reliability, affordability, and climate adaptation are translated into measurable, operational outcomes. The position involves high-impact and high-visibility work at the center of the Electric strategy organization.

• Team: Electric Operations Strategy (EOE) organization, providing enterprise-level strategic support and operational enablement for Electric T&D.
• Mission: Leads the planning, governance, and execution of a portfolio of strategic initiatives, programs, pilots, and projects that advance Electric Operations priorities.
• Tech Stack: AI/ML, SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Snowflake, Power BI, Data/Digital Enablement

What You’ll Actually Do
• Define Scope: Help define scope, conduct discovery, and align objectives for a portfolio of strategic initiatives.
• Lead Planning: Support end-to-end project and initiative planning, aligning on roles and responsibilities with cross-functional partners.
• Coordinate Operations: Maintain ongoing communication with partner organizations and coordinate partner projects with operations as needed.
• Monitor Performance: Identify, analyze, and address project performance issues, ensuring quality delivery and troubleshooting with partners.
• Communicate Status: Create executive-level PowerPoint presentations and communicate project status to internal stakeholders regularly.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, with a focus on enterprise-level strategic support and operational enablement within an Electric Operations Strategy context.
• Experience: 4–6 years of experience managing programs or projects, including proven experience leading AI-enabled programs. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and initiatives simultaneously within a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
• Skills: Strategic leadership for translating high-level requirements into executable plans, strong cross-functional influence and coordination, systems thinking and problem-solving, and robust written and verbal communication skills for leadership updates.
• Bonus: Background in utility, wildfire, forestry, or climate. Ability to work effectively with senior staff members and management. PMP Certification is preferred.
