DOW Skillbridge Internship | Matrix Design Group, Inc.
The Tone:
This is an internship at Matrix Design Group, Inc., with preferred locations in Colorado Springs, CO; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; or San Antonio, TX, with other remote locations considered. This position is specifically for transitioning service members participating in the DOW SkillBridge Program, offering critical consulting support to government clients.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Colorado Springs, CO; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; San Antonio, TX (remote considered)
• Team: Government Consulting Services Center of Excellence (CoE)
• Mission: Provide consulting support to government entities, including the Department of War and state/local governments, focusing on public service, process improvement, and project management.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, Tableau
What You’ll Actually Do
• Research assigned areas or issues and produce formal and informal reports to summarize information or persuade readers to support objectives.
• Implement continuous process improvement and business process reengineering projects through mapping, data analysis, visualization, and digital solution development.
• Contribute to project execution by preparing reports, developing technical documents, creating presentations, and assisting with project deliverables.
• Orchestrate and lead virtual and in-person engagements with project stakeholders, facilitating visioning, brainstorming, and problem-solving.
• Assist with project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, organizing teams, prioritizing projects, ensuring quality, and supporting invoicing.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, operations research, data science, or a related field of study. This position is for transitioning service members participating in the DOW SkillBridge Program.
• Experience: Minimum of four years of work-related experience, preferably in engineering, public works, installation management, construction management, logistics, or base operating support. Must possess a valid driver’s license and successfully pass the Company’s MVR screening.
• Skills: Familiarity with the organization and structure of the U.S. Department of War, with detailed knowledge of one or more military services; ability to gather and organize information from diverse sources; capacity to use statistical analysis, simulations, or predictive modeling to develop practical business solutions; outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills; proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Bonus: Working knowledge of data visualization and automation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
