[Immediate] Office Manager, School-based | KIPP SoCal Public Schools
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at KIPP Chicago, located in the Austin, Englewood, North Lawndale, and West Humboldt Park neighborhoods of Chicago. • Mission: Operates a welcoming and efficient main office, coordinates student enrollment and attendance, and provides daily support to teachers and the school’s leadership team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Enrollment Coordination: Manage the full student enrollment process, including canvassing and recruitment, processing applications, managing waitlists, providing tours, and assisting parents with online registration.
• Attendance Management: Oversee daily student attendance, making phone calls to absent students, processing late arrivals and early dismissals, communicating with staff, and ensuring accurate data entry in student information systems.
• Office Environment Management: Create a neat, welcoming, and organized main office, greeting parents and visitors, maintaining visitor logs, answering phones, and redirecting inquiries appropriately.
• Staff Support & Logistics: Maintain the teacher workroom, ensure copiers and printers are operational, manage school supply inventory, fulfill staff supply requests, and handle all incoming and outgoing mail and shipments.
• Student Health & Event Support: Coordinate student health services in collaboration with the site nurse to ensure appropriate student care and assist with the coordination of various school events.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires at least two years of college, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and a minimum of two years of administrative experience.
• Experience: Proven administrative experience, demonstrating strong personal initiative and follow-through in a professional setting.
• Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs when supporting school procurement.
• Bonus: Prior experience working in a school setting, a Bachelor’s degree, or oral and written fluency in Spanish for a Bilingual Office Manager role.
