Political Fellowship Intern | Nicole Locklin for U.S. Congress

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage with voters: Conduct outreach activities including phone banking, canvassing, and direct community engagement efforts.
• Organize events: Assist with the planning, logistical coordination, and on-site support for various campaign events and meetings.
• Manage campaign resources: Distribute campaign materials and help maintain organized volunteer lists and schedules.
• Support digital presence: Contribute to the creation of social media content and conduct basic research on local issues.
• Track campaign progress: Perform data entry to accurately record voter interactions and campaign activities.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates should possess a genuine interest in public service, grassroots organizing principles, and the progressive policy issues that are directly impacting South Florida communities, such as the rising costs of housing, healthcare, and education.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required. Successful interns will demonstrate strong communication skills, which includes clear and articulate speaking, active and empathetic listening, and a comfort level in engaging productively with a diverse range of voters and community members during outreach activities.
• Skills: The ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment is essential, along with strong organizational skills for managing schedules, coordinating events, and performing basic data entry or record-keeping tasks. Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to consistently attend required in-person shifts and events in Pembroke Pines, FL, are also critical. Furthermore, a commitment to the campaign’s core values of integrity, accountability, and a people-first approach is paramount.
• Bonus: Basic familiarity with various social media platforms and a willingness to actively support the campaign’s digital outreach and communication efforts will be helpful for this role.
