Tax Manager LatAm | Miq Digital
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at MiQ Digital, based in Colombia or Mexico, with a focus on the Latin American region. MiQ Digital is a global programmatic media partner. This role is crucial for leading and coordinating the company’s regional tax compliance agenda, ensuring accurate and timely adherence to tax obligations while shaping a well-governed and scalable tax framework. It offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tax professional to manage multiple workstreams, improve governance, and partner with the business on tax implications.

• Mission: Lead and coordinate MiQ’s regional tax compliance agenda across Latin America to ensure obligations are met accurately, on time, and commercially practically.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance Management: Own and project manage the LATAM tax compliance calendar, covering various tax obligations.
• Coordination: Coordinate third-party advisors and local finance teams across LATAM to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
• Review & Oversight: Review advisor-prepared tax returns, calculations, and workpapers, challenging positions and ensuring alignment with MiQ’s policies.
• Advisory: Assess the withholding tax impact of cross-border payments and intercompany flows, addressing treaty and documentation requirements.
• Governance & Partnership: Strengthen regional governance through process standardization and partner with stakeholders on transactions with tax consequences.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager-level tax professional with strong exposure to LATAM corporate tax and withholding tax matters. A qualification as an accountant, tax lawyer, or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: 6+ years of relevant tax experience, gained in-house and/or in Big Four or professional practice, with a practical understanding of VAT/indirect tax and transfer pricing compliance coordination across multiple LATAM jurisdictions.
• Skills: Strong project management, advisor management, review, and stakeholder communication skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines across different countries and time zones; comfort working with tax trackers, reporting packs, and ERP-driven data; good Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills; fluent Spanish and strong written and spoken English.
• Bonus: Portuguese is an advantage.
