Property Operations Specialist – San Francisco & Peninsula | The John Stewart Company

• Mission: Provide comprehensive training and operational support to on-site property management teams to ensure efficient and compliant property operations and resident satisfaction.
• Tech Stack: Boston Post, Nexus, Dayforce, MRI, Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Onboarding & Training: Onboard and train new property staff on developed policies, procedures, and various workflow processes specific to properties, including incident reporting and security protocols.
• Operational Support: Develop best practice policies and procedures, streamline processes, coordinate with housing partners, and assist with specific operational tasks like processing payables, rents, and new vendor setup.
• Leasing & Compliance: Support lease-up activities by maintaining applicant tracking, conducting intake interviews, ensuring move-in certifications are complete, and coordinating with the Compliance team for timely processing of referrals.
• Resident & Administration: Maintain amiable relationships with all residents, handle complaints and grievances, ensure consistent application of property rules, oversee accurate resident files, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Interim Property Management: Act as an Interim Property Manager during staff shortages, managing day-to-day property administration, supervising staff, addressing resident issues, and overseeing property maintenance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial experience in personnel supervision, training, and evaluation. Knowledge of company policies, federal, state, and local laws, government regulations, and agency rules pertaining to property management.
• Experience: At least two years in personnel supervision, training, and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK.
• Skills: Problem-solving and deductive reasoning, applying logic to identify solutions, understanding and applying policies and regulations, managing personnel resources, strong written and oral comprehension and expression, and mathematical skills for financial statements and budgeting.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Boston Post software.
