GM Certified Service Technician | Beaver Chevrolet

The Tone: This is a full-time, in-person role for a GM Certified Service Technician at Beaver Chevrolet in Jacksonville, FL. • Mission: To expertly diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of vehicle automotive systems, ensuring precise execution of repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications, and effectively communicating service needs to uphold customer trust and satisfaction.
• Tech Stack: Comprehensive diagnostic tools, specialized service equipment, advanced electronic diagnostic equipment, and essential computer competencies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Repair Order Fulfillment: Accurately and efficiently perform all work specified on repair orders, ensuring strict adherence to dealership procedures and quality standards.
• Vehicle Diagnostics & Testing: Conduct thorough test-drives of vehicles and systematically test various components and systems utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment to identify issues.
• Automotive System Repair: Diagnose, maintain, and expertly repair diverse vehicle automotive systems, encompassing engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Service Advisor Collaboration: Maintain direct and clear communication with the Service Advisor, providing comprehensive updates on any additional services required for customers and furnishing accurate estimates of time needed for these supplementary repairs.
• Manufacturer Warranty Compliance: Execute all necessary repairs covered under warranty precisely to manufacturer specifications, ensuring compliance and customer assurance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification. Required to hold ASE Certification. Demonstrated core domain knowledge at a B level, indicating proficiency in Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair.
• Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of prior Service Technician experience is preferred, showcasing practical application and expertise in the field.
• Skills: Excellent dexterity, requiring a steady hand and precise hand-eye coordination for intricate tasks; strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills to effectively identify and resolve complex vehicle issues; proven ability to proficiently operate electronic diagnostic equipment; capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technology, as well as evolving repair and service procedures and specifications; excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies; must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
