Assistant Project Manager (Field & Office) | Starr Industries LLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Starr Industries LLC, located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Starr Industries is a growing union construction company specializing in scaffolding, hoisting, and access solutions for commercial construction projects throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This role is critical for bridging communication between field operations and office staff, ensuring projects are organized, on schedule, and supported efficiently from start to finish.

• Mission: This person supports the Director of Field Operations by coordinating all project documentation, communication, and follow-ups to maintain project organization and schedule adherence.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word

What You’ll Actually Do
• Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact and communication between field personnel and the office.
• Support: Assist the Director of Field Operations with daily administrative and project-related tasks.
• Documentation: Maintain and track critical project records, including employee onboarding paperwork, timesheets, and various required documents.
• Coordination: Communicate regularly with foremen to manage project status, manpower, scheduling, safety documentation, and outstanding items.
• Follow-Up: Track and follow up on outstanding items, ensuring deadlines are met across internal departments like project managers, estimators, payroll, and accounting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Previous experience in construction project coordination, project management, or construction administration.
• Experience: Experience working in commercial construction and/or union construction is highly preferred.
• Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented with problem-solving capabilities and follow-through.
• Bonus: Experience with Procore, Sage, or other construction management software; Bilingual (English/Spanish).
