Accountant | Precision Castparts
The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Precision Castparts, located in North Grafton, MA. Precision Castparts is a manufacturing company that relies on accurate financial data to drive its operations. As an Accountant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, supporting critical compliance efforts, and contributing to the financial health of the Grafton plant. Your work directly impacts daily operations, forecasting, and strategic analysis for the division.

• Mission: Prepare and analyze financial reports, manage invoicing and costs, ensure compliance, and support planning for the Grafton plant.
• Tech Stack: Blackline, Archer, mid to large size ERP Systems
What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including P&L statements, for both internal stakeholders and the WG Division, along with weekly charts, RG reports, and other ad hoc analyses as required for the Grafton plant.
• Transaction Oversight: Meticulously review and accurately process daily invoicing, ensuring strict adherence to proper revenue recognition principles and overall Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to maintain financial integrity.
• Cost Management: Scrutinize and validate all proposed Standard Cost Changes, assessing their impact and ensuring accuracy within the company’s costing system.
• General Ledger Management: Accurately prepare and post journal entries, perform thorough account reconciliations, and meticulously load all required financial information into the Blackline system for precise record-keeping.
• Compliance and Analysis Support: Execute SOX tests and efficiently review and load all relevant SOX data into Archer, while also providing critical support for forecasting initiatives, strategic planning, and detailed project analysis efforts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; an early-career professional ready to apply foundational knowledge in a business environment.
• Experience: 1-2 years of business experience; practical experience utilizing mid to large size ERP systems; exposure to SOX requirements within a public company setting.
• Skills: Strong knowledge and understanding of Standard Costing Systems; proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations; familiarity with GAAP compliance, especially regarding revenue recognition.
• Bonus: Exposure to modern manufacturing tools and methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
