Food Service Director | Aperion Care

The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership role at Aperion Care. Aperion Care operates skilled nursing and long-term care facilities dedicated to providing comprehensive care for residents. This Director role is critical for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient food services, directly impacting the health and well-being of residents while managing departmental operations and compliance.

The TL;DR
• Type: Full-time
• Team: Leads the dietary department, managing all food service personnel.
• Mission: Owns the total responsibility for delivering quality food service, maintaining dietary sanitation, and managing personnel and fiscal resources for facility residents.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Department Oversight: Assume total responsibility for organizing, directing, supervising, and administering dietary policy to ensure the complete and efficient operation of the dietary department, aligning with facility mission and procedures.
• Food Quality & Safety: Guarantee the preparation, serving, and proper storage of food supplies according to designated menus, regulatory guidelines, time schedules, temperature controls, and stringent sanitary regulations.
• Personnel Leadership: Lead all food service personnel, encompassing hiring, comprehensive training, discipline, and, when necessary, termination, while fostering a cohesive team environment through effective communication.
• Financial Management & Compliance: Monitor and adhere to the dietary food budget, accurately manage and reconcile all food and equipment supply purchase orders and invoices, and ensure full compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies.
• Menu & Education Development: Collaborate with a registered dietitian to establish menu cycles that meet resident therapeutic needs and preferences, and facilitate in-service training for staff on sanitation, food preparation, and presentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current certification as a Food Service Director.
• Experience: Minimum two (2) years long-term care experience.
• Skills: Dietary department operations and coordination; Food preparation, serving, and storage protocols; Personnel management including hiring, training, and discipline; Budget monitoring and financial reconciliation; Adherence to Local, State, and Federal regulatory guidelines; Menu development collaboration; Equipment maintenance; Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bonus: Four (4) years total professional experience preferred. Two (2) years previous leadership experience preferred in long-term care. Demonstrated professional commitment to providing quality meals and food service.
