Summer/Fall Internship – Public Relations | Anderson Group Public Relations

The Tone:
This is an internship at Anderson Group Public Relations, located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Anderson Group Public Relations is a world-renowned public relations and brand management firm with 30 employees across its Los Angeles and New York offices, offering expertise in television, film, music, fashion, corporate, sports, medical, non-profit, authors, consumer, beverage, lifestyle, special events, product launches, hospitality, and crisis management. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in media relations, communication, and marketing within a professional environment, supporting the development and execution of public relations strategies and maintaining positive media and community relationships.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Seasonal (Summer/Fall), non-paid for experience/college credit only; commitment of 1-4 days per week for at least 2 months, 10:00am – 6:00pm daily.
• Location: In-person, Los Angeles Metropolitan Area (Melrose office).
• Team: Works with teams of Publicists in an extremely collaborative work environment.
• Mission: To support the development and execution of public relations strategies, assist with content creation, and help maintain positive media and community relationships.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Work directly with teams of Publicists to gain hands-on experience within Los Angeles’ public relations scene.
• Business Development: Support new business initiatives by identifying and researching potential clients and drafting initial email outreach.
• Influencer Identification: Utilize social media platforms to research and identify rising influencers relevant to client campaigns.
• Media Tracking & Research: Track client press coverage, pull media clips, and conduct industry-related research for online and print publications.
• Content Creation: Draft various communication materials including pitches, client memos, and press opportunities, and maintain digital press kits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must possess a strong interest in public relations and a desire to pursue a career in the field.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
• Skills: Strong writing, research, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Candidates should be self-starters, proactive, resourceful, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team, while effectively handling a fast-paced environment and taking direction well.
• Bonus: A genuine love for dogs is a plus, as the office has several small dogs.
