Cost Accountant | Rylem Staffing
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at our client’s finance team, which involves occasional on-site activities within their manufacturing plant. The client is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support critical cost accounting functions. This position is vital for maintaining accurate costing and pricing models, analyzing financial data, and ensuring the integrity of cost structures, directly contributing to strategic initiatives.

• Mission: Owns the accuracy and analysis of manufacturing costs, pricing models, and financial data to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Costing Models: Maintain and analyze product costing and pricing models to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Framework Development: Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of cost accounting frameworks and costing engines.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and financial results to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare and review cost reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and other financial analyses.
• Process Partnership: Partner with finance, operations, and plant personnel to improve costing accuracy and business processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Entry-level career candidates are encouraged to apply, with up to 2-3 years of accounting or cost accounting experience preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Experience: Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bonus: Master’s degree, MBA, or CPA designation; experience with a Big Four public accounting firm; experience using SAP or other ERP systems; experience in manufacturing cost accounting; or experience within a corporate accounting environment.
