International Graduate Internship Programme | The International Sustainability Network

The Tone:
This is a flexible, part-time, and remote International Graduate Internship Programme at The International Sustainability Network, which operates as The ESG Institute. The organization’s core mission is to empower other organizations to integrate sustainability and ESG principles through a global network of advisors, specialized training programmes, strategic projects, and thought leadership. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity for ambitious undergraduate and graduate students, or recent graduates, to gain substantive, hands-on experience in the critical and rapidly expanding field of ESG advisory and training. Interns will contribute directly to real client-facing projects, working alongside senior consultants and industry experts, thereby playing a meaningful part in embedding sustainability at the core of businesses globally.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To gain hands-on experience in international ESG advisory and training by actively supporting senior consultants on real projects across sustainability, research, communications, and business development.
• Tech Stack: Standard productivity tools; familiarity with data or sustainability reporting tools is a plus.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough market, industry, or regulatory research to provide critical insights and data, directly supporting various ESG advisory and training projects undertaken by the Institute.
• Business Development: Actively assist in the preparation of compelling client presentations, concise proposal summaries, and informative briefing documents, contributing to the Institute’s engagement with current and prospective clients.
• Marketing & Communications: Support the creation and dissemination of engaging blog content, manage social media outreach initiatives, and contribute to brand visibility campaigns to enhance the Institute’s global presence.
• Policy Support: Contribute to detailed analysis of evolving ESG frameworks, international reporting standards, and significant regulatory developments, informing the Institute’s advisory services and strategic direction.
• Innovation & Strategy: Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas and perspectives to client advisory work, helping to shape strategic recommendations and future initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a degree programme in sustainability, business, finance, economics, law, international relations, marketing, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within diverse, cross-cultural teams. Proficiency with standard productivity tools is essential for daily tasks and project management.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills to tackle complex ESG challenges. Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication abilities for internal and client interactions.
• Bonus: Familiarity with data or sustainability reporting tools would be a distinct advantage. A genuine, demonstrable interest in ESG, sustainability principles, and advisory work is highly valued.
