The Tone:
This is an entry-level opportunity for a Staff Accountant with Turn2Partners’ client, a large financial services firm based in Bethesda, MD, operating on a hybrid work schedule. The client is actively expanding its accounting department to meet the demands of its growth within the financial services sector. This position is integral to the smooth operation of the firm’s financial functions, playing a foundational role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting critical monthly reporting processes. The successful incumbent will contribute directly to the integrity of financial data, enabling informed decision-making across the organization.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $60000–$70000 yearly plus bonus
• Mission: This person will contribute to the accurate recording of financial transactions and assist with monthly financial analysis and reporting for a growing firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Expense Analysis: Analyze expenses on a monthly basis to ensure they are recorded appropriately.
• Accounts Payable Processing: Process accounts payable invoices for the firm.
• Financial Statement Assistance: Assist with monthly analysis of financial statements and report on identified variances.
• Journal Entry Preparation: Prepare and record various journal entries.
• Month-End Close Support: Provide assistance with essential month-end closing procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting experience, or completion of an accounting internship.
• Skills: Foundational understanding of accounting principles, ability to process accounts payable, basic financial statement analysis, journal entry preparation, and month-end close procedures.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree specifically in accounting is preferred.
